my sewing journey began at age 9, when a pillowcase class at joann fabrics unlocked a lifelong passion for design and creativity. since then, I’ve honed my craft by sourcing and matching interesting fabrics, sketching my own patterns, and sewing unique, colorful gifts for loved ones’ birthdays and holidays.

‘Summer’ dress, 2023
My structured yet breathable Summer dress with flutter sleeves + hand-sewn buttons. I made this dress because I personally love wearing dresses with a flattering sweetheart neckline and A-line bodice.

‘Spring’ dress, 2024
My soft midi Spring dress with vintage-style lace and a unique vest-like cut. I sewed invisible zippers in both the back and side of the dress for easy wear that doesn’t compromise on a flattering shape.
quilts 🔲

A lined dog kurta with cotton sourced from India and a full-sized quilt with matching throw pillow. In the quilt, I aimed to mix geometries by contrasting the round, almost floral mandelas with strict rectangular lines.

‘Limoncello’ quilt, 2024
My Limoncello quilt drew on summery and lightweight aesthetics I encountered in my trip to Italy, which is captured in the bordering fabric. The four ‘lemons’ in the center are not only an unexpected quilting pattern, but also made of a different apparel fabric that gives the fruit a sense of realistic texture.

‘Child’s Backyard’, 2022
One of my early quilts; a cozy sampling of fabric squares that represented a backyard through a child’s mind. It depicts comfortable renderings of forest animals in their pale brown surroundings.

A fleece dog blanket for Toby made with scraps from the Joann remnants bin. I enjoyed stitching together fleece here and creating a piece that is hard to stain.

A gift for a family friend that allowed me to have fun with paisley fabric scraps that I sourced in India. Matching these together originally felt like a bold and overwhelming choice, but the firehose red border seemed to bring the project together and make it almost framable (thus why I added the hook).
A multi-media birthday project that utilized this cute, nostalgic breakfast print and a yarn piece I wove by hand. I added the constellation for Taurus and five stars for the month of May next to Cathy’s initial.

‘FruitBox’, 2023
Flipping the traditional fruit basket on its head, this piece acts less like centerpiece and more like a container for loose odds and ends.

A doormat I wove and tied using strips of my mother’s faded cotton nightgowns from India. I created the loom by cutting notches in a giant piece of cardboard.

A legion of fabric masks sewed during the pandemic, perfect for layering.

The first ‘stuffie’ I sewed. A cheaper alternative to an actual Baby Yoda figurine for my sister’s birthday that I constructed entirely out of leftover scraps. Then, I embroidered on The Child’s pleasant expression.
